The building itself has an older look and architecture but has undergone some renovations to make it a bit more modern and a unique look that stand out in the epicenter of the German capital.

Visiting The Dome Of The German Capital

Visiting The dome of the German Capital building is one of the best things to do in Berlin if you are interested in museums, architecture, panoramic views, or the historical culture of Germany. Not only is it a great place to learn more about the political leadership of Germany but the Reichstag has some of the most unique architecture in Berlin and the dome offers some of the best 360 degree views of the city of Berlin.
Here’s how you do it.

If you would like to enjoy taking in some of the views and learning about Germany’s political leadership, you can visit the dome of The Reichstag by following these simple steps.

1. You need to make a FREE reservation to visit the dome of The Reichstag. You can find that here: https://www.bundestag.de/en/visittheBundestag/dome/registration-245686

2. You will have to fill out a form and give them your passport number as well as any other required personally identifying information such as your first name, last name, and date of birth.

3. Once you have been confirmed and you receive an e.mail that looks like the one seen below. You are ready to go.

4. There will be very long lines so give yourself plenty of time before your scheduled visit.

5. Upon arrival, you will be required to show the following documents to gain entry to the security building.
– Passport for Non-EU Nationals or Government issued ID for EU Nationals
– A letter similar to the one seen below.

Note: I know from personal experience that you do not need a printed copy of this letter to get in. An iPod or smartphone copy is accepted.

5. You will now need to go through a full security screening similar to airport security. They will check your name on a manifest and then you will need to go through a metal detector and send your things through an x-ray machine.

6. Once you are done with this you will be cleared to go up to the front door of the Reichstag and wait for security to let you in. Once you are in the building itself you will be guided to an elevator that takes you to the dome and observation deck. Enjoy!
